A chance to hear the acclaimed new Violin Concerto by Deborah Pritchard written in response to a series of 13 oil paintings, Wall of Water by the contemporary artist Maggi Hambling. The programme also includes music by that pioneer among women composers, Thea Musgrave, Emily Doolittle’s evocation of a blackbird singing in the rain and Kaija Saariaho’s intense meditation on the presence of the dead.
